Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is a specialized approach that utilizes targeted hands-on techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of various issues affecting the soft tissues, such as muscles, tendons, and ligaments, as well as joint-related problems. This therapeutic approach encompasses a range of interventions, including joint manipulation, soft tissue release techniques, and myofascial therapies. By employing these precise and focused techniques, manual therapy aims to alleviate pain, restore mobility, and enhance overall physical function. Whether it's addressing muscular imbalances, joint restrictions, or tissue restrictions, manual therapy offers a holistic approach to optimize the health and well-being of individuals.

Rehabilitation Exercise Therapy

It is a specialized form of rehabilitation that aims to help individuals regain and improve their physical abilities after an injury, surgery or illness. Rehabilitation exercise therapy focuses on targeting specific areas of the body that have been affected, utilizing targeted exercises and movements to increase strength, flexibility, and overall mobility. This therapy is tailored to each individual's unique needs and goals, with the goal of promoting healing, improving range of motion, and enhancing overall quality of life. Through consistent and guided exercise, individuals can regain their independence, regain function, and return to their daily activities with confidence.

Dry Needling / IMS

Dry needling is a highly effective technique utilized by our physiotherapists at Wellness Within. This therapeutic method involves inserting a thin needle directly into the skin, targeting underlying muscular trigger points. By targeting these dysfunctional muscles, dry needling promotes increased blood circulation, alleviates tightness, and significantly reduces pain. Our experienced physiotherapists are trained in the precise application of dry needling, working diligently to inactivate trigger points, reduce pain, and ultimately restore optimal bodily function.

Kinesiology Tape

Kinesiology tape, a remarkable tool in the realm of physical therapy, is designed to assist in muscle movement and recovery. This thin and flexible tape boasts dynamic properties that go beyond traditional athletic tape. Its primary purpose is to alleviate pain by offering targeted support to muscles and joints. Not only does it help reduce swelling and inflammation, but it also provides stability and facilitates proper body alignment. Its elasticity allows for free range of motion while gently stimulating the body's natural healing processes. With its multifaceted benefits, kinesiology tape has become an indispensable asset in promoting pain relief and enhancing overall physical performance.

Pelvic Health Physiotherapy

A pelvic health physiotherapy appointment at Wellness Within is designed to address a variety of conditions affecting the pelvic region, including pelvic pain, incontinence, postpartum issues, and musculoskeletal dysfunctions and more. Our experienced and compassionate physiotherapist utilize evidence-based techniques to assess, diagnose, and treat pelvic health concerns, ensuring a comfortable and supportive environment throughout your journey to recovery.

Shockwave Therapy

This therapy uses acoustic pulses (not electrical!) that are made using compressed air. The pulses pass through the skin and into the tissue to reduce hypertonicity in the muscle and stimulate a regeneration process. Shockwave can be used to treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. Chronic pain from conditions like tendonitis, golfer’s elbow, tennis elbow or plantar fasciitis are effectively treated with shockwave.

Not included in your physiotherapy appointment, can be added to your physiotherapy appointment for an additional charge. More Information:

Policies

+ Late Cancelation Policy and Fees

  • Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the therapists’ day that could have been filled by another patient. As such, we require 24 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Clients who provide less than 24 hours notice, or miss appointments, authorize Wellness Within to charge their credit card on file for cancelled or missed appointments or overdue balances. Clients who provide less than 24 hours notice will be charged a cancellation fee of $20.00. Clients who do not provide notice and are a "No Show" will be subject to a fee of $40.00. Clients who frequently cancel without adequate notice will not be permitted to continue to schedule online without making prior payment arrangements. If you do late cancel and we do charge a fee, we will send an email receipt to the email provided above. As the massage therapist is on commission this fee will help make up for lost income by a late cancelation.

+ Late Arrive Policy

  • Incomplete intake forms or arriving after your appointment time may result in lost time from your treatment as we are unable to exceed that reserved time without affecting the next client session. Full-service fees will be charged even when sessions are shortened due to late arrival. Your insurance will only apply coverage for the amount of massage you received and not what you were scheduled for. Paying for the difference will be the responsibility of the client and not the insurance company.
